What are our anesthesiologists doing?

Anesthesia is only part of the care provided by your anesthetist. He will not only take care of your calm and comfortable sleep during the procedure. His other tasks are:

• Examination and discussion before the planned surgery
• Assessment of any necessary preliminary examinations
• Monitoring of all important body functions during and after the operation
• Carrying out a ventilation procedure, if necessary for the operation
• Arrangement of appropriate drug administration directly after the procedure
• After-surgery visits to get an idea of your individual needs

Already in the first conversation with the surgeon you will be informed about any necessary anesthesia. In addition you will receive a questionnaire, which you must read and fill carefully. If you have any questions about an anesthesia procedure at this time, you can contact a specialist in anesthetics at any time. Please do not let ambiguities or fears arise.

In some cases, it may be necessary to arrange an appointment with the anesthetist before the scheduled surgery. This is especially the case with existing medical conditions. Your surgeon will inform you about this at an early stage. If you are taking medication, please let us know in good time.
